Metamorphosis, a Metaphor For Change

Noticing first a collection of dried husks of evil-looking insects clinging to rocks beside a Vermont pond in early June, I watched as a live version of one of these creatures crawled up on a rock; after the sun had dried it a bit, I watched as an eventually beautiful dragonfly slowly broke from the head area of its nymph and rose up out of the shell of itself.
